Christmas in Paris

Under Parisian Skies

Light up the lanterns and garlands! Streetlights, large avenues, squares, department stores and small shops are adorned with thousands of multicolored lights. Arches of white lights cross the streets, their silvery drops falling like stalactites from the bare branches of the trees.  More small lights and red, yellow and green garlands add to the ambience as the many festive lights of Paris delight children and recall for their parents the sweet magical memories of childhood.

Signs of the festive season

The windows of department stores are animated - everything from toys to kitchen utensils and even clothes seem to have received the gift of movement in these festive days. A pancake feast on the edge of the Luxembourg Gardens is just one of the great joys of winter, and the perfect treat after a winter shopping session on the ever sparkling boulevard Saint-Michel. Finally, join in the fun as a huge ice tower is built at l’Hôtel de Ville as the Parisian skies are filled with shimmering stars and festive lights.
