Dip your toes in the water at Paris Plage
Published on in Visit Paris
Book a stay at Hotel Vice Versa Paris and visit the waterfront. As you stroll along the banks of the Seine you'll discover beautiful beaches that have sprung up for Paris Plage.
No more dreary photos of Paris in summer - stifling heat, closed shops and residents deserting the city. Now on fine days Paris lives at the same frantic pace as the rest of the year, while offering pleasant places where you can relax and take things easy. Just like elsewhere, we enjoy the sun, beach and water and love to be at the seaside! Paris Plage takes place from 20th July to 18th August, and the city offers real sandy beaches complete with beach umbrellas on the banks of the Seine. You can sunbathe or share aperifs with friends, or just relax and dip your toes in the water. Energetic types will find a range of activities at Bassin de la Villette such as beach petanque and boat rides, as well as snack bars where they can stock up on cool drinks.
When evening comes and you've had your fill of sun and sand, take the time to discover the 15th edition of Moonlight Cinema organised by the Forum des Images. The films will be shown outdoors in mythical places around the city, including Montmartre, the range of the Vosges, Montsouris or the Place des Fêtes. All screenings are free, and there are showings of popular classics as well as cult films. This year's Moonlight Film Festival takes place from July 30th to August 8th. As every year, Parisians will flock to the parks and gardens after work to join holidaymakers and visitors as they relax after the day's activities. You too can join them, and Hotel Vice Versa is within easy reach of Moonlight Cinema venues.
